Erin Elizabeth Dawson weds Paul Scott Alexander, Jr.
Erin Elizabeth Dawson and Paul Scott Alexander Junior were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, August 9, 2014, in the chapel of the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau. Father Allen Breaux officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mark Henry Dawson of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Audrey LeBeau Hornsby and the late E.J. Hornsby of New Roads, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Charles Dawson II of Morganza. The bride is a graduate of The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center where she received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. The bride is currently employed as a registered nurse at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery, Ala.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Scott Alexander and Mrs. Caroline Radford Alexander of Selma, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Alexander II and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cecil Radford, all of Selma, Ala. The groom is a graduate of Morgan Academy and Auburn University where he received a Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems. He is currently the president of Scott Communications in Selma, Ala.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant lace gown with a Queen Anne neckline with hand placed re-embroidered lace appliques and lace sleeves. The gown also featured a sheer covered back with covered buttons to top of bodice with a chapel train. The bride wore a pale ivory edge cut veil and carried a bouquet of white and blush colored hydrangeas. Her bouquet was finished with her maternal grandmother’s rosary and the groom’s late grandmother’s pendant.
Kellen Katherine Dawson, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Lindsey Dawson Bergeron, cousin of the bride, served as the bride’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Catherine Lofton Olivier, Megan Mouton Baker, Mary Elizabeth Zaunbrecher, Melissa Anne Tarter and Ashleigh Reagan Hollier, all friends of the bride. Bridesmaids wore formal strapless lux chiffon gowns with a pleated bodice, while carrying bouquets of white and blush hydrangeas.
Paul Scott Alexander, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Edward Alexander IV, cousin of the groom, and Nicholas Larue Horne, Benjamin Dobbins Cosby, Ewing Jones Moore and Andrew Butler Truax, all friends of the groom. Serving as ushers were Blake James Terro and Ryan Paul Bergeron, both friends of the bride.
Kaylin Aubrey Caswell, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. Liam Michael Caswell and Willard Henry Holtzman III, both nephews of the bride, were ring bearers.
Readers included Elizabeth Eller Washington, Morgan Manfre Murdock and Stephanie DesOrmeaux LeBlanc, all friends of the bride.
Gift bearers were Amanda Ippolito Del Buono and Brooke Ashlee Aucoin, both friends of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at City Club River Ranch in Lafayette in honor of the newlyweds.
Upon returning from a honeymoon to Tahiti and Bora Bora, the couple will reside in Selma, Alabama.
