Harmon, delaHoussaye engagement celebrated with festive couple’s shower

The Lafayette home of David and Adrienne Barras was the setting for a festive couple’s shower in honor of Mattie Jean Harmon and Nicholas DeBlanc delaHoussaye, who are set to be wed on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

The Saturday, Nov. 22, party was co-hosted by Dr. Donnie and Melissa Boudreaux and Chad and Deidre Toups.

The Barras residence was decorated throughout with fresh flowers, and the event was catered by a local restaurant and featured exceptional sweets from a local dessert specialty company.

The approximately 40 guests in attendance signed in on Jenga blocks, and the game was presented to the engaged couple as a keepsake to remind them of the celebration whenever it is played.

Entertainment included a version of “The Newlywed Game” played by the longest-married couple, the most recently married couple and the engaged couple, with the engaged couple winning the game.

Mattie is the daughter of Margaret-Anne and Charles Harmon of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are the late Nancy Jean and Charles Ray Christner of Livonia, Michigan, and her paternal grandparents are the late Marguerite and Erwin T. Harmon of Crowley.

Nicholas is the son of Maxine and William A. delaHoussaye of Crowley. He is the grandson of the late Lucille M. McGraw of Rayne, and of the late Frances and DeBlanc delaHoussaye of Crowley.

The couple will be wed during an evening ceremony at Pointe-aux-Loups Springs Ballroom in Iota.
