Shower fêtes couple

Laura and Brent Boudreaux, who were married this summer, were fêted with a couple’s shower shortly before they tied the knot.
The Sunday, June 21, shower was held at the Crowley home of Caroline and Kevin Boudreaux and was themed to reflect the couple’s two favorite teams - the New Orleans Saints and the Louisiana State University Tigers.
For the event the couple wore Saints’ colors, with the bride dressed in a black dress, white sweater and gold scarf and the groom dressed in a Saints polo shirt and hat paired with khaki shorts.
The Boudreaux home was decorated with various Saints and LSU items, as well as pictures of the bride and groom and family.
Rather than a traditional sign-in book, guests signed a wooden initial “B” to be hung in the couple’s new home.
Guests at the shower enjoyed jambalaya that was cooked on-site, along with hors d’oeuvres of homemade cheese straws, summer sausage, boudin balls, various dips and cheese and fruit trays. They also enjoyed miniature Bundt cakes with beer and wine to drink.
Co-hosting the event with the Bourdreauxs were Kathleen and Rustin Gilder, Tiffany and Kody Istre, Yvonne and Jason Anderson and Jared and Margaret Cox.
The bride is the daughter of Corrine and Galen Gilder of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of the late Hollis and Halcyon Gilder Sr. of Hahnville, and of the late Eunice and Wilbur Rabalais of Simmesport.
The groom is the son of Glen Boudreaux of Rayne and the late Nellie Boudreaux. He is the grandson of the late Leora and Paul Lejeune, and of Edward Boudreaux and the late Bernice Boudreaux, all of Rayne.
The couple was wed on the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne.
