Spallino, Duplechain to wed Oct. 2

Shane and Debbie Spallino of Crowley are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Heather Rae Spallino of Crowley, to Ryan Joseph Duplechain of Lake Charles.
The grandparents of the bride-elect are Ethel Valdetero Spallino of Crowley and the late Salvador “Sam” Spallino and Sandra Saucier Poppell of Statesboro, Georgia, and the late William Larry Poppell.
Heather is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and a 2011 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is presently employed as an emergency room travel nurse and is a student in the nurse practitioner program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The prospective groom is the son of C.J. and Lee Anna Duplechain of Lake Charles. He is the grandson of Dorise Watson of Carlyss and the late Wes Watson, and of the late Cleve and Rose Duplechain of Lake Charles.
He graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 2005 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2010 and a Master of Architecture degree in 2012. He is currently employed with Sabatier Architecture LLC.
The betrothed couple will be wed on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Msgr. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the 7 p.m. Nuptial Mass.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Crowley.
