‘Belled Out’ against breast cancer

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Crowley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta teamed up with Elegant Events by Cotessa to host a “Belle Out” tea party to promote breast cancer awareness on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the C.F. Ladd Masonic Hall, which was donated for use by the lodge. The tea also raised funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Hostesses and presenters for the gathering included, front row from left, Cotessa Solomon, Delta Sigma Theta member LaQuanta Evans, Willette Wilridge, Karen Batiste, Delta Sigma Theta member Evelyn Julian; back row, Danielle Damon, Delta Sigma Theta members Latikka Magee-Charles and Krystal Chevis, Yashica Williams and Delta Sigma Theta member Cheryl Shelvin-Lewis. Batiste is a nurse specializing in oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center who travelled from Texas for the event.
