‘Cajun lullaby’ CDs available from Pink Ladies
The Pink Lady Board of the Acadia General Hospital met Monday, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m. in the second floor conference room of the hospital.
President Gloria LeBlanc called the meeting to order and asked Evelyn Barousse, chaplain, to lead the ladies in the Auxiliary Volunteer Prayer and Pledge, as well as the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roberta Sonnier, secretary, called the roll and read the minutes for the last meeting, which were approved. Treasurer Nettie Romero gave the financial report, advising that the Pink Ladies will be receiving T-shirts to be sold to employees and anyone wishing to purchase them.
Additionally, there are now CDs with recordings of “Cajun lullabies” available for purchase. Some of the verses are sung in French, and the discs will be sold for $15 each. The songs are to be played whenever a new baby is born in the hospital.
New and revised calling lists were distributed.
There was a discussion about the concern for patient safety. The Pink Ladies were cautioned to always get permission from the nursing stations before delivering trays to patient rooms.
It was announced that Pink Ladies will no longer collect dues.
Acadia General will host a Christmas dinner party for the Pink Lady hospital workers at Chef Roy’s in Rayne on Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.
The next Board meeting will be held in the Conference Room on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at 9 a.m.
