Afternoon baby shower honors Mrs. Kelly Lagneaux

RAYNE - The hospitality room of the Best Western Rayne Inn served as the setting for a baby shower held in honor of Mrs. Jason (Kelly) Lagneaux.

Mrs. Lagneaux is the former Kelly Lowe, daughter of Terry and Maria Lowe of Madisonville, maternal grandparents-to-be.

Paternal grandparents-to-be are Larry and Delores Lagneaux of Rayne. 

Hosting the afternoon social were Kristine LeBlanc, Jackie Comeaux, Gloria Sanchez, Gwen Meche, Tammy Daigle, Lisa Moody, Pam Bouillion, Caren Babineaux and Natalie Lagneaux.

Guests were served a variety of refreshments, including a baby buggy fruit centerpiece surrounded by meatballs, sausage, sandwiches, vegetable tray, dips, boudin, cakepops, cupcakes, le gateau, beverages, and a speciality designed chocolate cake decorated in a baby jungle theme.

The theme for the courtesy was “Baby Jungle Animals,” in addition to unique diaper cakes, coordinating tableclothes, napkins, plates, and a special guest registry.

For the special event, Kelly wore a black maxi maternity dress and was presented a sunflower shoulder corsage.

The maternal grandmother-to-be wore a summer ensemble including peasant-style blouse over white pants. The paternal grandmother-to-be selected a maxi-dress of royal blue tones topped with a summer cardigan. Both were presented sunflower corsages.

Approximately 50 guests were in attendance for the courtesy from Rayne, Church Point, Scott, Baton Rouge and Madisonville.

Special relatives who could not attend the special event due to health were Anne Lowe, maternal great-grandmother-to-be, and Eda Daigle, paternal great-grandmother-to-be.

The new family member is expected to arrive July 21, 2014.
