Attakapas Study Club gathers for Christmas social

There were seventeen members and one guest in attendance on Wednesday, December 11, for the meeting and Christmas party of the Attakapas Study Club of Crowley.

The party was held at the beautifully decorated home of Ethel Thibodeaux, located in Midland.

A short business meeting was led by the president, Roy Lynn Trahan, who also welcomed Jackie Keyes as a guest.

After the business meeting was adjourned, Jackie Buescher led the program, which was entitled, “Laughter, the Best Medicine.” Buescher prepared a delightful skit based on the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” She gave out pictures and objects representing the 12 days and 12 club members participated by acting out their parts. After much laughter, Erma Breaux told two Christmas stories to remind the group of the true meaning of Christmas.

After Christmas gifts were exchanged, everyone enjoyed a wonderful soup and ham luncheon prepared by Thibodeaux. Jeri Stevenson and Trahan assisted Thibodeaux in the preparationof the meal. Side dishes and desserts were prepared by the other hostesses, Mae Prather, Bonnie Matirne and Gerry Meche.
