August 6 wedding date announced for Jones, LaFosse

Margaret and Steve Jones of Rayne are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittney Layne Jones of Baton Rouge, to Derek Mitchell LaFosse of Gonzales.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Ethel and Edgar Stelly of Jennings and the late Verdie and Thomas Jones of Crowley. She is a 2005 graduate of Iota High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science, and a 2011 graduate of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, where she earned a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy. She is presently employed at The Therapy Center of Jeff Davis Parish as an occupational therapist in skilled nursing facilities.
The prospective groom is the son of Vanessa Boudreaux of Gonzales and the late Daniel Brian Boudreaux. His grandparents are Rita and Wallace LaFargue of Reeves and Diana and Tommy Boudreaux of Baton Rouge. He is a 2006 graduate of East Ascension High School and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at Baton Rouge Community College. He is employed with Louisiana State University athletic facilities.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Aug. 6, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by Rev. Mark Derise at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott.
Following their marriage, they will reside in Baton Rouge.
