Baby shower fêtes Katherine Grannemann
CROWLEY - Family and friends of Katherine Mire Grannemann of Pearland, Texas, celebrated the upcoming birth of Katherine’s first child with a baby shower held at the First United Methodist Church in Crowley on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Katherine is the daughter of Ann and Steve Mire of Crowley and is married to Nathan Grannemann, who is the son of Amy and Brian Grannemann of Hermann, Mo.
For the mid-afternoon event, Katherine wore a black dress with purple paisley print and a bright corsage of three yellow roses tied with green ribbon.
Katherine’s mother, Ann, selected black slacks with a floral blouse, and Nathan’s mother, Amy, paired blue jeans with a grey sweater.
Both mothers wore matching corsages of two yellow roses tied with green ribbon.
Hosting the shower were Mallory Mire, Natalie Mire, Dodie Mire, Martha Mire, Melanie Broussard and Lynda Roche.
The event was Dr. Seuss-themed, and the church’s fellowship hall was done up in whimsical Seussville decorations.
Guests enjoyed sandwiches; fruit, vegetable and cheese trays; and various dips.
The highlight, of course, was the Dr. Seuss shower cake enjoyed by everyone.
Approximately 25 people attended the shower, with out-of-town guests traveling from Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina and various points throughout Louisiana.
Special guests at the event were Katherine’s grandmothers, Melba Broussard and Dolores Mire, who will be the new baby’s great-grandmothers.
Katherine’s due date is Dec. 29.
