Bias family holds 16th bi-annual reunion

The 16th bi-annual Bias family reunion was held in Crowley on July 10-12.
Present for the event were over 350 descendants of Charlie Bias and his children, John, Emily, Zepher, Henderson, Solomon, Avery, Ada and Giles.
The weekend reunion began on Friday evening with a welcome/get-acquainted activity. The evening consisted of a talent and fashion show and various games and dancing, along with a tasty chicken and sausage jambalaya meal and dessert.
The picnic activities, which included face-painting, fun jumps, field games, basketball, board games, musical chairs, bingo and arts and crafts, began Saturday morning. Those in attendance enjoyed a meal of hot dogs, hamburgers chips and dessert.
The festivities continued Saturday evening with the reunion program, which was held along with the “unmasking of families” and a family parade. A delicious BBQ dinner with all the trimmings and dessert was served, followed by socializing and dancing.
The reunion weekend concluded with family members gathering to worship at Bethel CME Church on Sunday morning.
The next Bias family reunion will be held in 2017 in Lake Charles.
