A couple’s shower was held the evening of Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Rayne home of Sonya and Ricky Briggs in honor of Emily Alleman and Scott Blasik, both of Houston.
Parents of the bride-elect are Karen and Marty Alleman of Houston, formerly of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Mamie and Duane Blasik of Plano, Texas.
Hosting the evening social were Sonya and Ricky Briggs, Jan and Don Alleman, Rachel Kratzer, Mel Venable and Jon Kirkland.
Guests were served a variety of refreshments, including meat pies, crawfish dip, spinach dip, brisket and pulled pork with barbecue sauce, cheese and crackers, fruit and vegetable platters, chantilly cake, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, along with orange/cucumber/lemon water, passion fruit tea, in addition to wine and beer.
For the special occasion, the Briggs’ home carried a vineyard theme with a decor of white and pink roses. As a parting gift, guests received a glass coaster with the couple’s picture inserted. Also, everyone wrote thoughts of wisdom for the couple.
While the couple opened their gifts, they were asked questions as a way for the guests to get to know them better as a couple.
For the special occasion, Emily wore a pink, white, and black sundress, while her fianceé selected a gray and light blue attire.
Approximately 50 guests attended from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, and Plano, Houston and Tomball, TX.
Special guests in attendance were Emily’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zaunbrecher Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Dalfred Alleman, all of Rayne.
The couple will be married on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, during a four o’clock ceremony at Our Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Spicewood, TX.
