Crowley Branch NAUW concludes club year

The Crowley Branch of the National Association of University Women held its May 19 meeting at the Martin Luther King Center in Crowley. Following the call to order, the litany and hymm were presented, the minutes from the previous meeting were read and the treasurer’s report was given. Preparations were finalized for attendance at the 56th South Central Sectional Conference to be held at the Ramada Inn in Lafayette June 18-20, and the members discussed various possibilities with regard to their July retreat. Donations were accepted from members who did not have contestants in the recent royalty pageant and a prospective member was welcomed. The meeting concluded with wishes for a nice summer. The organization will resume its regular monthly meetings in August. On hand for the May meeting were, seated from left, Cynthia Winbush, Dr. Ezora Proctor, Cheryl Shelvin-Lewis, Betty Gums; standing, Pamela Thorns, Keiasha Benoit, Evelyn Pleasure, Jocelyn Potier and Myrtle Cain.
