Crowley sorority chapter receives awards

The Crowley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was recently the recipient of two prestigious awards. The chapter was designated a Louisiana “Flag Ship” Chapter. A distinguished honor, the Flag Ship designation is bestowed upon only one out of every 12 chapters. Additionally, the chapter received a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of attaining the highly coveted Five-Star Compliance Level. Local officers presenting the award to the chapter were, from left, Cheryl Shelvin-Lewis, chaplain; Latikka Magee-Charles, first vice president; Yvonne Mills, president; and LaQuanta Evans, recording secretary.
