Engagement party honors Rayne couple
An engagement party was held at the home of Robert and Karon Cook in honor of Courtney Alison Reed of Lafayette and Carl Curtis of Baton Rouge.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Alison Reed of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Dwight Thomas and Amanda Curtis of Crowley.
Serving as hosts for the evening social were Karon Cook, Mary Catherine Broussard and Rosemary Cook.
The Cook home was decorated in an Hawaiian luau-theme, complete with floral leis presented to honorees and guests.
Guests were served a large assortment of fingerfoods, along with desserts and beverages.
For the special occasion, Courtney wore an Hawaiian-theme sundress, while Carl sported an Hawaiian shirt over khaki slacks.
The bride-elect’s mother wore an Hawaiian shirt over capris, while the prospective groom’s mother selected an Hawaiian-style dress.
Approximately 40 guests were in attendance for the event from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, Scott and points of Texas.
Courtney and Carl will be married on Saturday, June 13, 2015, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony at the Wolf Ballroom in Washington, followed by a reception on site.
