Alex Riviere and Cecilia Hamilton

Hamilton, Riviere to wed Saturday, Feb. 22

 

Cecilia Hamilton of Scott and Alex Riviere of Lafayette have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mary and Craig Hamilton of Scott. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hooks of Jacksonville, Ark., and her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Hamilton of Carriere, Miss.

Cecilia is a 2008 graduate of Acadiana High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She is presently employed as a Spanish teacher at St. Thomas More Catholic High School.

The prospective groom is the son of Andrea and Jim McFaul and the late Ross Riviere, all of Lafayette. He is the grandson of the late Marjorie Hains McCarty of Rayne and the late Lt. Col. Justin John McCarty, United States Army, of Washington, D.C.; the late James Charles and Lola Dauterive McFaul Sr. of Breaux Bridge; and the late Peter and Mary Mae Chenevert Riviere Sr. of Livonia.

Alex graduated from Lafayette High School in 2006 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in general studies – arts and humanities. He is currently employed as the band director at Crowley High School.
