Honey-do, couples’ shower honors couple
The vintage barn of Tim Gossen of Roberts Cove served as the unique setting on Saturday, June 13, for a honey-do, couples’ shower held in honor of the engaged couple of Hannah Simmons of Lafayette and Robert Thomas Johnson of Rayne.
Hannah is the daughter of Eric and Gisell Simmons of Lafayette, and Robert Thomas is the son of Albert and Bonnie Johnson of Rayne.
Hosting the 5 p.m. pre-nuptial event were Blaine and Simone Hooper, Trevor Deaville and Kayla Fontenot, Hunter and Jamie Simmons, Karris Toups, Skip and Gwen Melancon, Kyle and Lauren Fontenot, Katelyn Taylor, Jay and Mary Comeaux, Brenda Hooper, Eddie and Amy Johnson, Brooke Thevis and Tim Gossen.
A Saints theme was noted for the celebration with honorees and guests attired in New Orleans Saints clothing. In addition, service tables were overlaid with black tableclothes and highlighted with black and gold balloons. Also found throughout the refreshment area were fleur de lis and Saints memorabilia.
Guests were served burgers and hotdogs, chicken strips, an assortment of dips, fruit tray, veggie tray, cheese tray, watermelon, Rice Krispy treats, pralines, and a selection of beverages.
Approximately 80 guests enjoyed games of washerboard, ping pong and cornhole.
Guests attended from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, Basile, Morgan City and Baton Rouge.
Hannah and Robert Thomas will be married on Saturday, September 5, 2015, during a 2 p.m. ceremony at First Baptist Church in Lafayette, followed by a reception at the Events Center in Lafayette.
