IBHS 1952 grads attend class reunion

Seven classmates of the Indian Bayou High School graduating class of 1952 attended their 63-year class reunion on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café in Rayne.
Alumni in attendance were Elwood Comeaux, Patsy Henry Sarver, Herbert Landry, Robert Lee Landry, Austin Morgan, Welvin Hernandez and Ernest Gaspard. They attended from Rayne, Kaplan, Crowley, New Iberia and Little Rock, Arkansas.
Reunion committee members were Patsy Henry Sarver, Nell Hoffpauir Savoy, , Herbert Lndry and Elwood Comeaux.
Deceased classmates remembered were Dallas Arabie, Corbet Cmeaux, Elma Fabre Trosclair, James Landry, Utice Rost, Juanita Schexnider Boudreaux, Mildred Simon Doucet, Kay Stutes Morgan, Clifford Thibodeaux, E.J. Leger and Shirley Comeaux Foote.
The graduating class numbered 25 graduates with the following class officers: president Patsy Henry Sarver, vice president Mildred Simon Doucet, secretary Elma Fabre Trosclair and treasurer Elwood Comeaux.
The class colors were purple and white, with the wild iris the class flower. The class song was the tune of “That’s My Desire” and the class motto was “We have crossed the bay, the ocean lies before us.”
