Les Dames start new program year
The members of Les Dames Acadienne held their first meeting of the new program year on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Acadia Parish Library in Crowley.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Lois Richard, followed by the club members’ recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and the club collect.
Following a welcome by President Betty Miller, Richard gave the treasurer’s report and collected dues and a love offering.
President Miller reviewed the club’s projects and the members agreed that they would continue to make lap-blankets to distribute to area nursing home residents during the Christmas season. Additionally, the group will once again make a donation to the American Heart Association.
The group also discussed the cookbook they are developing, including the need for additional recipes and the various costs involved in production.
The members then shared various household hints, exchanged Secret Sisters gifts and participated in Show and Tell.
Following the meeting, members enjoyed a salad meal with desserts and drinks that were prepared by the hostesses, Miller and Richard.
