Lilly Comeaux celebrates 98 years

Lilly Comeaux of Crowley celebrated her birthday last week, but it was no ordinary day. The still young-at-heart Comeaux turned 98 years of age.

Comeaux was born in Crowley on Dec. 31, 1915, to the late Suzie and Henry Hoffman.

She later married Dallas Comeaux, now deceased, and the pair had two children, Glenn Comeaux, who lives with his wife Gayle in Lafayette, and the late Ronald Joseph Comeaux.

She is the proud grandmother of six and the proud great-grandmother of 12.

Family and friends celebrated Comeaux’s birthday on Tuesday, Dec. 31, during an early afternoon party at Southwind Nursing Center.

In addition to plenty of good cheer, guests enjoyed a delicious vanilla birthday cake with pecans and pecan icing, as well as plenty of punch. 

Due to inclement weather, a number of guests were unable to travel for the event, but those that could came from as far away as Lafayette, and those that could not sent heart-felt wishes.
