Lloyd and Jenell Vincent celebrate 60 years together

John Lloyd and Jenell Trahan Vincent of Estherwood celebrated their diamond anniversary - 60 years of marriage - on Oct. 23.

 The Vincents were wed in Crowley in 1954 by a justice of the peace and later had their marriage blessed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.

Jenell was born to Olucien and Dalphina Myers Trahan and, after marrying John, became a homemaker and full-time mother.

John, the son of Emery and Adella Hebert Vincent, was a welder and a truck driver.

Together, the couple raised  four children, Jo Ann Vincent Trahan of Estherwood, who is married to Lawrence “Larry” Trahan; Bobby Vincent of Mermentau Cove, who is married to Verdie Skrantz-Vincent; Jeffrey Vincent of Castex Landing, who is married to Greta Istre Vincent; and Jerry Vincent of Estherwood, who is married to Nicole Chelette Vincent.

The couple has been blessed with eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
