LOCAL FILM CHOSEN FOR OKLAHOMA FESTIVAL

Wild Productions, based in Crowley, has announced that its short film “the Bingo Bandito” is an official selection of the Red Dirt International Film Festival, which will be held in Stillwater, Okla., Oct. 25th and 26th.

“the Bingo Bandito” is a Louisiana-based project and features talent from Crowley, Rayne, Lafayette and the surrounding area.

Taking place in a small country bingo hall, the film shows what happens when the Bingo Bandito appears, complete with bingo dabber bandoliers, and immediately dominates the previously calm proceedings.

Intimidated and discouraged bingo players are about to call it quits when mild-mannered Selma Cludbladder appears and joins the game. The bingo caller works to keep things moving as the Bingo Bandito and Selma square off for a showdown “blackout” game. The rest is the stuff of Bingo legend.

The entire film, with the exception of one scene shot in Lafayette, was shot in Acadia Parish.

The cast includes Pamalia Mosa as the Bingo Bandito and Elsie Rowell as Selma Cludbladder. Supporting cast includes Steve Fontenot, Patty Ronkartz, Ron Ronkartz, Lynn Broussard, Rose Millet, Mark Leonards, Martha Royer, Gayle Guillot, Claire Dore’ and Jude Mequet. Also featured are Russell Faulconer and William Artall.

While Bart Wild wrote, produced and directed the film, Eric Breaux of Lafayette served as director of photography and editor. The film features music by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

“the Bingo Bandito” made its World Premiere during the “2012 Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival” last year and won an Audience Favorite Award.
