Miss Merry Christmas pageant contestants announced

CROWLEY - The 49th annual Miss Merry Christmas Pageant, sponsored by Eta Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, will be held this Thursday, Nov. 20, at the International Rice Festival Building in Crowley.

This year’s event will include entertainment by the Delores Nutt School of Dance and Rice City Gymnastics, as well as the traditional visit from Santa Claus.

And, once again, a variety of outstanding contestants will be vying for the honor of riding next to Santa in the Crowley Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade. This year’s entrants include:

Riley Ann Bertrand - Riley, who is 6 years old, is the daughter of Ashley and Corey Bertrand. She is a student at North Crowley Elementary and wants to be a teacher one day.

Alexis Celeste Miller - Alexis is a student at St. Michael Catholic School and is the daughter of Britney and Derek Miller. She is 7 years old and plans to become a veterinarian.

Mya Babineaux - Mya, a student at North Crowley Elementary, is the daughter of Carrie Leleux and Jason Babineaux. She would like to be a hair stylist when she grows up.

Taylor Brook Prejean - Taylor is a 6-year-old student at Evangeline Elementary. She is the daughter of Sunmer Prejean and Patrick Prejean and plans to pursue a career as a doctor.

Hailee Gautreaux - Hailee is the 7-year-old daughter of Nichole Gautreaux. She is a student at Ross Elementary and wants to be a teacher one day.

Mallory Elise Breaux - Mallory, who is 6 years old, is a student at Redemptorist Catholic School and the daughter of Lisa and Scotty Breaux. She plans to be a teacher.

Dayton G. Richard - Dayton is a student at Ross Elementary and is 6 years old. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard III and would like to be a chef.

Macie Habetz - Macie is the daughter of Amy Sensat and Jeremy Habetz. She is 6 years old and attends Iota Elementary. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Anna Catherine Francis - Anna, who is 6 years old, is the daughter of Alicia and Bryan Francis, She attends St. Michael Catholic School and has not narrowed down her list of career choices, although being a teacher is at the top.

Grayce Olivia Landry - Grayce attends St. Francis and is the daughter of Joey and Brittany Landry. She is 6 years old and wants to be a veterinarian one day.

Amelia Grace Prevost - Amelia is the 7-year-old daughter of Sarah and Jeremy Prevost. She is a student at St. Michael Catholic School and is planning a career as an art teacher and cheerleader.

Jaylynn Alysse Thibodeaux - Jaylynn is the daughter of Tomeika Bailly and Jason Thibodeaux. She is a 6-year-old student at Morse Elementary and wants to follow in her great-grandmother’s footsteps by becoming a nurse.

Kalli Jane Fruge - Kalli attends Iota Elementary and is 6 years old. She is the daughter of Ashley Curry and Deron Fruge and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Gabriella Medina - Gabriella, who is 6 years old, is the daughter of Cassie Desormeaux. She attends Ross Elementary and plans to be a gymnastics teacher one day.

Alyssa Michelle Sisco -  Alyssa attends Redemptorist Catholic School and plans to pursue a career as a teacher. She is the 6-year-old daughter of Dawn Henry Sisco and Jack and Amber Sisco.

Evee’ Margaret Kirsch - Evee’ is a 6-year-old student at Iota Elementary. The daughter of Beth and Peter Kirsch, she would like to be an elementary school teacher when she grows up.

Emily Marie Abshire - Emily attends St. Michael Catholic School and is the daughter of Lynn and Seth Abshire. She is 6 years old and plans to become a veterinarian.

Rose White - Rose, who is 6 years old, is the daughter of Deanne White. She attends Evangeline Elementary and intends to pursue a career as a doctor.

Mia Marie Hoffpauir - Mia, a student at Redemptorist Catholic School, is 6 years old. She is the daughter of Kim and Zac Hoffpauir and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Haleigh Melancon - Haleigh is a 6-year-old student at St. Michael Catholic School. She is the daughter of Erin and Aaron Melancon and wants to be a veterinarian one day.

Kenzley Bellard - Kenzley is the 7-year-old daughter of Katie Deaville. A student at North Crowley Elementary, she plans to be a princess and work at an aquarium.

Addison Grace Guidry - Addison, who is 6 years old, attends North Crowley Elementary. She is the daughter of Addie and Kirk Guidry and plans to pursue a career as a librarian.

Emma Louise Hargrave - Emma is 6 years old and the daughter of Barbara Bruchhaus and Brent Hargrave. She attends Northside Christian School and plans to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Jade Milaneta Guidry - Jade is a 6-year-old student at South Crowley Elementary School. She is the daughter of Ianeta and Brandon Guidry and hopes to be a scientist one day.

Ellen Claire Richard - Ellen is the 6-year-old daughter of Tessa and Kentry Richard. She attends St. Michael School and plans to follow her father’s example and pursue a career in nursing.

This year’s pageant will start at 7 p.m., and tickets are priced at $3 for adults and $1 for children. Concessions will be available.

Additionally, the sisters of Beta Sigma Phi will sell $1 chances to win a giant Christmas stocking, with the proceeds to be donated to Miss Helen’s Soup Kitchen.
