In honor of Black History Month, the National Association of University Women - Crowley Branch set up a black history display at the Acadia Parish Library and also donated a copy of “Aunt Harriet’s Underground Railroad in the Sky” by Faith Ringgold to the library. On hand for the presentation were, from left, Betty Gums, Destinee Jones, Cynthia Winbush, Claire Dore (library assistant), Lemuel Jones and Hilda Jones. The group had already held its January meeting, at which the members discussed plans for the Feb. 20 banquet they are holding in honor of Crowley’s influential women, made plans for the library display and book donation, selected a single parent, discussed registration for Acadiana Area Founder’s Day, talked about local Founder’s Day, discussed the upcoming national convention and planned to volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity.
