Odelia Johnson celebrates 84 years

Odelia Johnson of Crowley turned 84 years old on Thursday, Jan. 8.

Johnson was born in 1931 to Bertha T. and Homer Comeaux Sr.

She has six children and one stepson, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Along with a large number of nieces and nephews, they celebrated Johnson’s birthday on the eighth.

Johnson has been spiritually nurturing and caring for elderly and disabled persons in Crowley for 46 years. Her favorite scripture package is Matthew 19:26 - “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Johnson volunteers at Crowley Christian Care Center four days a week and rides her bike to to Mobley Field. She has declared as her theme for 2015 that “just a little thoughtfulness goes a long way.”
