Pink Ladies Auxiliary Board holds Feb. meeting
The Board of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary held its regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 in the conference room of the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
President Gloria LeBlanc called the meeting to order and asked Lou Cormier to lead the auxiliary prayer and pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance.
In the absence of the secretary, Roberta Sonnier, the roll was called and the minutes of the Jan. 6 meeting were read by Sylvia Dischler. The minutes were approved with corrections.
The Board discussed ongoing issues between the Pink Ladies and Plant Works, and Georgie Petitjean agreed to try to help bring about a mutual agreement.
Petitjean also asked for donations of paperback books to help to set up libraries for the local parish and city jails.
The treasurer’s report was given by Nettie Romero and was approved, pending audit.
Pursuant to a motion and vote, Debbie Adams was accepted as a new Pink Lady, and President LeBlanc reported to the Board regarding changes to the Pink Ladies’ work schedules.
Leora Amy reported that she has arranged for the Rice Palace to be the meeting place for the next three general meetings, which will be held on April 2, May 7 and Oct. 1. Prices are set at $9.95 for the buffet plus tax and drink, and soup and salad will be $7.95 plus tax and drink. A minimum of 30 people are expected for these prices.
A meeting of the nominating committee was called by Lorraine Mire for Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. in the hospital cafeteria.
President LeBlanc advised that the Gift Shop should expect lower sales in January because the shop was closed due to weather conditions on the Jan. 28 – 30.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting of the Pink Lady Board will be held at 9 a.m. in the hospital conference room on March 3.
