Pink Ladies plan for general meeting
The board of the Pink Lady Auxiliary of Acadia General Hospital held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 2, at 9 a.m., in the Acadia General conference room.
The meeting was called to order by President Gloria LeBlanc, after which Chaplain Evelyn Barousse led the auxiliary pledge and prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The roll was called by Roberta Sonnier, secretary. Nine members were present. The treasurer’s report was given by Nettie Romero and was approved pending audit.
A list of the various special meetings for the year was distributed to the board members, and Nominating Committee Chairman Barbara Courville explained the procedure for signing up for office. Officers will be voted on at the Pink Lady Auxiliary General Meeting to be held in May.
Leisa Thibodeaux announced that there are seven prospective members who will go through orientation and training before being assigned to any duties.
Hospitality Chairman Lorraine Mire confirmed that arrangements have been made for the general meeting in May.
It was decided that the Pink Ladies will not accept any more books to be sold through the gift shop as they have not been selling well and take up valuable space. It was suggested that the ones on hand be given to Goodwill or to the Acadia Parish Library.
The meeting adjourned and it was announced that the next board meeting will be on Monday, March 2, at 9 a.m. in the hospital conference room.
