Rayne High class of ‘47 attends class reunion

The Rayne High School graduating class of 1947 gathered on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café in Rayne for a class reunion celebrating 68 years since graduation.
Chairperson Gus Kennedy welcomed three classmates to the 5 p.m gathering, including JoAnn Baer Rodrigue, Jeanette Prather Premeaux and C.J. Melancon.
Classmates attended from Rayne, Crowley, Pasadena and Port Arthur, Texas.
Deceased classmates remembered were Anna Lou Blanchard White, Hilda Cahanin, J.A. Cart, Joyce Falcon Stutes, Virginia Falcon Meyer, Francis X. Gilbert, Agnes Gueno Robertson, Herman Simpson, Thelma Spell Laviolet, James Curney Haure, Charles Hebert, Barbara Ann Johnson Sonnier, Ewel Latiolais, Buella Melancon Guidry, Edward Leroy Morgan, Thomas D. Petitjean, Isabel Richard and Gardner Schexnyder.
