Simons celebrate 30th wedding anniversary

Ronald and Christine Simon of Rayne were honored during a social on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the St, Leo Catholic Church Parish Hall in Roberts Cove in honor of the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary.

The couple were united as husband and wife on May 26, 1984. Christine is the former Miss Guidry, daughter of Marguerite Greig and the late Leroy Guidry. She is employed as a registered nurse. Ronald is the son of the late Dalfres and Evelyn Simon. He is employed as a heavy crane operator.

The couple are the parents of Ryan and Brian Simon, and the grandparents of Natalie LeBlanc, Noah, Micah, Colton and Ryann Simon.

Family members hosted the mid-day event against an elegantly simple background and decor in a pearl theme in accordance of a 30th wedding anniversary theme.

Approxiately 70 guests were in attendance from Rayne, Duson, Scott, Lafayette, Shreveport and Gonzales.

Special guest in attendance was Christine’s mother, Marguerite Greig.

Guests enjoyed a variety of refreshments including brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, rice dressing, beans, bread, steamed carrots, deviled eggs, sandwich tray and a variety of desserts.

A special anniversary cake was also provided. Atop a silver pedestal, the white, two-layer confection featured yellow roses and was topped with a silver “30” and writing.
