Brenella Joubert hosted the annual Christmas luncheon of Laureate Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at her home on Dec. 8.
The hostess introduced Tina Reaux and members of the Redemptorist Bell Choir, who entertained the group with Christmas carols, a sign language demonstration and the reading of the Nativity story.
Following the entertainment portion of the meeting, the group’s members, Joubert, Glenda Atkinson, Shirley Griffin, Connie Jaubert, Elsie Rowell, Gloria Stutes, Nancy Tislow and Phyllis Triggs, along with guest Sybil Dupuis, enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the hostess and members.
President Tislow, conducted a short business meeting, informing members that the Acadia Players will present the play “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on Dec. 20. The service chairman, Stutes, collected Soft Scrub cleaner for the Soup Kitchen and asked members to bring paper towels to the next meeting, which will be held at Griffin’s home on Jan. 5. Mention was made of the attendance of group members at the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant, which was begun 50 years ago by members of the sorority.
The enjoyable Christmas gathering concluded with the Secret Sister gift exchange.
