Stafford, Emma Cormier celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

RAYNE - A 50th wedding anniversary celerbration was held in honor of Stafford and Emma Trahan Cormier on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at their home.
The couple were wed Oct. 16, 1965, during a ceremony at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne. Wedding attendants were maid of honor Nancy Morgan, best man Charles Trahan, and other family members and friends.
They are the parents of two daughters, Wendy Cahanin and April Guidry, both of Rayne, and two sons, Chad Cormier of Crowley and Chris Cormier of Branch.
Their grandchildren include Nick Williamson, Lance Cormier, Emily Cahanin, Olivia Cormier, Abby Cormier, Bailey Guidry, Peyton Guidry and Acadiah Guidry.
During the evening event, approxiately 45 guests were served jambalaya, black eye peas, desserts, and additional appetizers.
A special anniversary cake was a white and gold confection of red velvet topped with a 50th anniversary gold inscription and white roses.
