Annual Luncheon Honors Acadia Parish Teachers of the Year

The 2013-2014 Acadia Parish Teacher of the Year Luncheon was held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café in Rayne when Teachers of the Year from throughout the parish were honored.

Honorees, along with their principals and special guests, were treated to entertainment provided by band students of the parish under the direction of Banks Pruitt and Joe Stemplewski.

Remarks were heard from the Acadia Parish Teachers of the Year in the elementary, middle and high school levels, including Allyson Oestricher of Estherwood Elementary, Sonia Devillier of Church Point Middle School, and Benny Fontenot of Rayne HIgh School.

Teachers of the Year honored were:

Elementary: Angela Vautrot of Branch, Maggie Futch of Central Rayne Kindergarten, Jamie Vead of Church Point, Allison Arceneaux of Crowley Kindergarten, Laura Daigle of Egan, Allyson Oestricher of Estherwood, Jennifer Boudreaux of Evangeline, Helen Rene of Iota, Lauren Judice of Martin Petitjean, Bonnie Credeur of Mermentau, Katie Jennings of Mire, Kysha Simon of Morse, Lisa Stewart of North Crowley, Shella Lavergne of Richard, Christine Freeman of Ross, Sara Mouton of South Crowley and Molly Couch of South Rayne.

Middle School: Lynn Lockhart of Armstrong, Denise Hollier of Branch Elementary, Sonia Devillier of Church Point Middle, Latanya Evans of Crowley Middle, Vicki Aymond of Iota Middle and Renee Vondenstein of Richard Elementary.

High School: Aimee Matte of Church Point High, Amy Bergeron of Crowley High, Malcolm Sellers of Iota High, William Stanley of Midland High and Benny Fontenot of Rayne High.
