2013 Miss Merry Christmas, Master Noel named

Ladies of Gamma Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the City of Rayne hosted the 2013 Miss Merry Christmas and Master Noel Pageant Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Civic Center Mural Room.

Named Miss Merry Christmas was Julianna Paige Dupont, 6-year-old daughter of Paul and Paige Dupont of Rayne. Julianna is a first grade student at Martin Petitjean and was crowned by last year’s honoree, Blaise Bergeron.

First maid was Annalise Grace Fruge, 7-year-old daughter of Mark and Angie Fruge of Rayne. She is a second grade student at Rayne Catholic Elementary.

Named Second Maid was Lindsey Bergeron, 7-year-old daughter of Frank and Dawn Bergeron of Rayne. She is a second grade student at Mire Elementary.

Completing the list of Miss Merry Christmas contestants were Azailey Drake, 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Drake; Alayshia Beverly, 7-year-old daughter of Olinka Robinson; Zaira Lynn Guilbeau, 7-year-old daughter of Tyra Guilbeau and Matthew Guilbeau; Haley Anita Cormier, 6-year-old daughter of Shannon and Crystal Cormier; and Jada Harmon, 7-year-old daughter of Sonya Harmon.

Named Master Noel was Ian Fruge, 7-year-old son of Mark and Angie Fruge of Rayne. Ian is a second grade student at Rayne Catholic Elementary and was crowned by last year’s honoree, Noel Bernard Peter.

Master Noel First Runner-Up was Dariontaé Cook, 7-year-old son of Judith Cook of Rayne. He is a second grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary.

Named Second Runner-Up was LeDamion James LeDay, 7-year-old son of Lethaniel and Rebekah LeDay of Rayne. He is a second grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary.

Completing the list of Master Noel contestants were Carter Michael Beard, 6-year-old son of Laura Louvierre and Jason Beard; Everett Joseph Dischler, 6-year-old son of Allyson and Tony Dischler; Raeden Chavez Coleman, 6-year-old son of Romy Coleman; and Tristen Scott, 6-year-old son of Renekia Alexander.

The new Christmas royalty and contestants will take their special place with Santa Claus on his sleigh Tuesday, Dec. 3, during the Rayne Christmas Parade set to roll down main street at 6 p.m. ending at the Depot with Santa.
