Caravan of horse-drawn buggies arrives here

If you were traveling in Rayne Tuesday morning, you might have encountered a group of horse drawn buggies and carriages stopped at City Hall.
The group, called “The Caravan” is riding from Murietta, California to Weirsdale, Florida. They refer to themselves as “a team” whose goal is to “travel and grow together and to discuss and learn about different subjects such as setting goals in life and dealing with insecurity.
Following the group’s stop in Crowley on Monday, Mayor Chuck Robichaux greeted the travelers to Rayne with a proclamation and bags of Frog City souvenirs, assisted by Larry LeBlanc.
Michael Muir, one of the group’s organizers with Canadian Gerard Paagnan commented that Louisiana and especially Acadiana residents have been some of the most hospitable people they have encountered.
