Melvin Finley steps down as pastor; sons to assume Abundant Life roles

After 37 years, Pastor Melvin Finley is stepping back as the pastor of Abundant Life Church in Rayne.
His oldest son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Karen Finley, have come home to serve as lead pastors of Abundant Life Assembly.
Tony graduated from Crowley High School in 1980 and LSU in 1985. He spent the last 11 years in South Florida at Trinity Church International as the worship and creative arts pastor. His wife, Karen, served in the Trinity Christian Academy as the girls’ bible teacher for the past four years. Together, Tony and Karen have served in ministry for the past 25 years.
Pastor Finley’s youngest son and daughter-in-law, Tod and Melanie Finley, have served as assistant pastors and worship leader at Abundant Life for the past 15 years and will serve as co-pastors with Tony and Karen.
Tod continues to work at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lafayette as head of the neo-natal respiratory department while Melanie is an RN at Lafayette General.
The Abundant Life Church family is excited and anticipating great things in the city of Rayne and surrounding communities as we transition into a new season of ministry.
