Sporting clay shoot to benefit state Lions Children’s Camp
A sporting clay shoot to benefit the Louisiana Lions Camp was described for local Lions Club members Thursday, Aug. 7, by by Kelly Suire.
The benefit, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 26, is being sponsored by the Louisiana Lions Camp Alumni Association, composed by former staff members of the camp near Leesville.
The clay shoot will begin at 9 a.m. at G.O.L. Shooting, LLC in Maurice, Suire explained.
The entry fee will be $100 for each member of a four-person team.
Participants must supply their own golf carts, ammo and eye and ear protection for the 17 station, 100-shot event.

Members were reminded the club will sponsor a hunter safety course on Aug. 15-16 at the Green Room. Classroom instruction on Friday will be followed on Saturday morning with practice at the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s shooting range.
President Tim Prevost also announced that Laurie Suire, executive director of OneAcadia, will be a guest speaker at the club’s Sept. 4 meeting.
