Neal Alleman is ULL graduate

Rayne native Neal Joseph Alleman graduated cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Saturday, May 15, 2010 when he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

Alleman was the treasurer of the Louisiana Delta Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society where he participated in various community service activities hosted by the Acadia Outreach Center. He was also a member of Pi Tau Sigma, ULL mechanical engineering honor society, American Society of Mechnical Engineers - UL Chapter, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He also received recognition for completion of the Designing Leaders Course where selected engineering students learned career building skills such as leadership, communication, global market awareness, and team building.

Neil is a member of the UL Baja Team, in which he designed and manufactured the gearbox for the 2010 Baja car as his senior project. In April, the UL Baja Team participated in international competition in Greenville, SC and placed 19th of 100 teams. They will also be competing in Rochester, NY in June of this year.

Neil is the son of Bryan and Roxanne Alleman of Rayne, and the grandson of Alfred and Marceline Zaunbrecher of Rayne and Curtis and Earline Alleman of Duson. He is also the great-grandson of Mabel Broussard of Judice.

Alleman is a 2005 high school graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley. He is presently employed with SRC Engineers, Inc. in Lafayette and plans to obtain his master’s degree in business administration from ULL.
