Martin Petitjean Elementary leads state-wide Leadership Event

MPE MAKEPRESENTATION IN BATON ROUGE CONVENTION - Twenty eight students from Martin Petitjean Elementary, a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, made a presentation to a group of 600 school board members and superintendents at the Louisiana School Boards Association Convention at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge on February 15, 2016. These students, MPE Student Panelists, conducted a Q&A session for the attendees as the lead in presentation for the keynote address, for which, they received a standing ovation for their presentation. These students received a great start in the Leader in Me at another Lighthouse School, Central Rayne Kindergarten. Muriel Summers, creator of Leader in Me and current principal of A.B. Combs Elementary in Raleigh, North Carolina, was the keynote speaker for the event and credited the Martin Petitjean staff with inspiring schools throughout Louisiana to engage in the Leader in Me process through their outstanding implementation.
