Doré seeking re-election to City Council
The Crowley Post-Signal will publish announcements of candidacy in advance of the Nov. 4 primary elections. Announcements will be published on a first-come, first-serve basis through Oct. 21 in the newspaper with no announcements being published in the Sunday edition nor during the final two weeks prior to the election date.
Announcements, with color pictures, may be delivered to the Post-Signal business office (602 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, or emailed to steve.bandy@crowleytoday.com or howie.dennis@crowleytoday.com.
Announcements should be held to about 600 words and the Post-Signal reserves the right to edit all announcements.
Today, Crowley Alderman Elliot Doré anounced his candidacy for re-election to his current Ward 4 seat.
Doré currently is chairman of the Finance Committee. According to Doré, Ward 4 encompasses almost all voters who reside on the south side of the Union Pacific Railroad mainline.
“It is with great pride and excitement to once more seek a seat on the Crowley City Council,” Doré said. “Holding a position on the council is very important to me. I know that Crowley, as well as Acadia Parish, is on the verge of great possibilities for economic development. I want the opportunity to help lead the city of Crowley during this time.”
Doré has held the positions of chairman of the Utility Committee, Zoning and Annexation (twice) and Finance.
“I am well-versed on the operations of the city of Crowley and the needs of my constituents,” Doré said. “The council and the mayor must continue to work together to keep Crowley moving in a positive direction. We must continue to support our police and fire departments to ensure the safety and well-being of all our citizens.”
Doré cited great strides that have been made during his service to the city of Crowley, including the expansion of the recreation department, improvements to Miller Stadium, the downtown enhancement project, street improvements, annexations, I-10 exit lighting improvements, North Highway 13 lighting, and much more.
“I once again remind the voters that I represent all of South Crowley. My constituents, or anyone in the city, can call me with a problem and know that it will be resolved, if possible, in a reasonable time and manner,” Doré said. “I humbly ask for your vote and support in this upcoming election.”
Doré is married to the former Sandra “Sandi” Bourgeois and they have three daughters — Chelsea, Samantha and Ellie.
