Doré seeking reelection to City Council
The Crowley Post-Signal will publish announcements of candidacy in advance of the Nov. 4 primary elections. Announcements will be published on a first-come, first-serve basis through Oct. 21 in the newspaper with no announcements being published in the Sunday edition nor during the final two weeks prior to the election date.
Announcements, with color pictures, may be delivered to the Post-Signal business office (602 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, or emailed to steve.bandy@crowleytoday.com or howie.dennis@crowleytoday.com.
Announcements should be held to about 600 words and the Post-Signal reserves the right to edit all announcements.
Jeffrey Doré has announced his candidacy for the position of Crowley City Councilman Ward 1, Division A.
Doré is a lifelong resident of Crowley. He is married to Deborah (Faulk) Dore’ and has one daughter, Claire Doré.
He attended St. Michael’s Elementary and graduated from Crowley High School. He later attended USL, majoring in secondary education. He became a certified machinist through Crowley’s Vo-Tech school and worked three years as a machinist and then seven years at the Bank of Commerce. Currently, he is employed at the Evangeline Bank and Trust Company.
“Crowley needs councilmen and women with ties to the city; who want the city to grow and prosper not only for their sake, but for generations to come,” Doré said in his announcement.
As chairman of the Community and Economic Development Committee, Doré has attended many workshops at local and national levels in an effort to gain valuable knowledge on marketing our city. He serves on the Public Works, Utility, Insurance and Personnel, and Revenue and Finance committees. He also serves on Crowley’s Main Street Board and has recently been appointed to the economic development committee OneAcadia.
He is a graduate of Leadership EXCEL 2011. He is also a member of St. Michael’s Church and the Crowley Lions Club.
In his announcement, Doré said:
“I have proven that I have the time to actively contribute to the growth of Crowley as well as to meet the needs of the citizens of Ward 1, Division A. I answer phone calls in a timely manner, pursue solutions to all problems presented by my constituents and always follow up on requests to ensure that issues have been resolved.
“Crowley has entered an era of change and growth. To ensure future prosperity and development, we will need to guarantee that growth is safe, controlled and planned. Any issues will need to be evaluated with a keen focus as their consequences affect the city’s future and long-term goals.
“Twenty years down the road we don’t want the added expense of redoing infrastructure because of poor planning and lack of foresight.
“I am asking the people of Ward 1, Division A, for the opportunity to again be their voice in city government. I would appreciate your support on Tuesday, November 4.”
