A & O 21st Century Club Presents 2013 Beautillion

"Suit and Tie" theme announces new royalty

The A & O 21st Century Club, Inc. staged its 17th Annual Beautillion on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the Rayne Civic Center entitled, “Suit and Tie.”

During the evening’s festivities set against formal black and white background with a touch of red, the 2012 honoree, Tyrin Nixon, crowned his successor, King DeWane Jolivette, son of Cutrina Jolivette and Benjamin Corbins Jr. His escort for the special event was Kylan Poullard.

Named First Runner-Up was Deon’tae Smith, son of Karia Smith. His escort was Jasmine Mouton.

Named “Mr. Debonair” was Vandavian Myles, son of Carolyn Guillory and Edwin Myles. His escort was ShaTangi Handy.

Beaus, along with their escorts were: 

Drakkar Broussard, son of Kerold and Yvette Broussard, Sr. His escort was Imari Jackson;

JaMarcus LaBostrie, son of Anthony and Shemeka Huval escorted by Madison Dugas;

Aaron Cutrer, son of Aaron and Paula Cutrer escorted by Bailey Thomas; and 

Javon Cormier, son of Antionetta Cormier escorted by Tristan Mouton.

As an added addition recently knowledged during the Beautillion, the Ronald Duplichain Community Award was presented to an outstanding individual who contributes towards the good of the city. The 2013 honoree honored during the evening’s festivities was Cutina Jolivette, who has contributed towards the advancement of Rayne youth by volunteering countless hours in youth programs. Her award was presented by this year’s ball chairman Brian Mouton.

Also honored during the presentations were:

Nicole Anderson - Sisters of A & O “Sister of the Year” and Wallace Young, A & O “Man of the Year.”

Honorees and guests were welcomed by Tim Mayfield, who delivered the welcome address, followed by the invocation by Deacon Nolton Senegal.

Serving as master of ceremonies was Patricia Senegal, who were introduced by Brian Mouton, ball chairman.

A minuet choreographed by the Sisters of A & O, presented the Beaus and their escorts, along with last year’s king who delivered his farewell. The toast to the royalty was led by Hilda Wiltz. 

The presentation was completed with the grand waltz participated by the Beaus and their mothers.

The evening was completed with dancing as music was provided by Chazem Entertainment.

A & O Club members in attendance were Brian Seth Mouton, Justin Jolivette, Ezzie Charles, Felton Charles, Jeremy Figaro, Jessie White, Jeremy Thomas, William Board, Wallace Young, Tommy Cooper, Lester Washington, Tim Mayfield, Reggie Mouton, Dwayne Smith and Eric Jolivette.

Sisters of A & O attending were Nicole Anderson, Danielle Reed, Kristen Jolivette, Crystal Beverly, Stacy Rubin, Cutrina Jolivette, Cutina Jolivette, Larrissa Arceneaux, DeDee Simmons, Rosa Mouton and Edna Mae Randall.
