Debutante Ball planned this weekend in Rayne

In preparation of this weekend’s 2016 Debutante Introductions and Ball, the Ebonite Civic and Social Club of Rayne, Inc., hosted its annual Debutante Tea on Sunday, May 1, at the Green Room of the Rayne Civic Center Complex.
The Debs were welcomed by club members, in addition to last year’s honoree, LaShonda Delco.
Each of the Debs performed a talent, incuding poems and songs.
Introduced as the 2016 Debutantes were:
Tarya Kanonu, 17-year-old daughter of Tarunye Kanonu and Kareem Bartlett. She is a senior at Rayne High School and will be escorted by Jont’e Morrison.
Mar’Shay Sias, 18-year-old daughter of Mary Young and Michael Young. She is a senior a Rayne High School and will be escorted by Dondre Wheeler.
Haylee Young, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Young. She is a student at South Louisiana Community College and will be escorted by Desmond Harmon.
This year’s Ball will be held this weekend on Saturday, May 7, at the Rayne Civic Center.
