A & O 21st Century Club presents 2014 Beautillion

The A & O 21st Century Club, Inc. staged its 18th Annual Beautillion on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at the Rayne Civic Center entitled, “Suit and Tie.”
During the evening’s festivities set against formal black and white background with a touch of red, the 2013 honoree, DeWane Jolivette, crowned his successor, King Desmond Cole.
Desmond is the son of Dora and James Keys. He is a 17-year-old senior at Rayne High School. His escort for the special event was Diamond Cole.
Named First Runner-Up was De’Ante Carrier, son of Faith Declouette and Shawn Carrier. His escort was Jasmine Mouton.
Named “Mr. Debonair” was Tyrin Gordon, son of Tonya Roberts and Val Gordon. His escort was Charlesha Dugas.
Beaus, along with their escorts were:
De’Ante Carrier, 16-year-old son of Faith Declouette and Shawn Carrier and Rayne High junior. His escort was Jasmine Mouton;
Desmond Cole, 17-year-old son of Dora and James Keys and Rayne High senior. His escort was Diamond Cole;
Tyrin Gordon, 17-year-old son of Tonya Roberts and Val Gordon and Rayne High senior. His escrt was Charlesha Dugas;
Thalamus Livings, 16-year-old son of Felicia Minix-Livings and Thalamus Livings Sr. and Rayne High junior. His escort was Taylor Syrie;
Byron Mouron Jr., 17-year-old son of Sylvia Mouton and Byron Mouton and Rayne High senior. His escort was Trsitan Mouton.
Also acknowledged during the Beautillion, the Ronald Duplichain Community Award was presented to an outstanding individual who contributes towards the good of the city. The 2014 honoree honored during the evening’s festivities was Rodney Rochester. The award was presented by ball chairman Brian Mouton.
Also honored during the presentations were:
Kristen Jolivette - Sisters of A & O “Sister of the Year” and Reginald Mouton, A & O “Man of the Year.”
Honorees and guests were welcomed by Tim Mayfield, who delivered the welcome address, followed by the invocation by Deacon Nolton Senegal.
Serving as master of ceremonies was Terrence Senegal, who were introduced by Brian Mouton, ball chairman.
Also introduced were Little Prince Tyreik and Little Princess Tamia Hollier.
A minuet choreographed by the Sisters of A & O, presented the Beaus and their escorts, along with last year’s king who delivered his farewell. The toast to the royalty was led by Hilda Wiltz.
The presentation was completed with the grand waltz participated by the Beaus and their mothers.
A & O Club members in attendance were Brian Seth Mouton, Felton Charles, Jeremy Thomas, William Board, Lester Washington, Wallace Young, Jessie White, Reggie Mouton, Delvicko Charles and Eric Jolivette.
Sisters of A & O attending were Cutina Jolivette, Rose Mouton, Gwendolyn Mouton, Cutrina Jolivette, Danielle Reed, Dee Dee Simmons, Annie Randall, Larissa Arceneaux, Nicole Anderson and Kristen Jolivette.
Special thanks to the many volunteers who offered their assistance and helped with another successful Beautillion Ball.
