Planning under way for May 5 National Day of Prayer

Planning is already underway for Crowley’s participation in the National Day of Prayer, which is set for Thursday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the International Rice Festival Building. This year’s theme is “Wake up America,” and the event will offer an unprecedented opportunity to witness God’s healing and renewing power as citizens come together to pray for the nation. The first planning meeting was held at First Baptist Church on Thursday, Feb. 25. On hand for the meeting were, seated from left, Lettie Martin, Bonnie Gaspard, Peggy Sandidge, Antoinette Pete, Stephanie Romero; standing, Josh Scanlan, Robert Gaspard, Barry Thompson, Lucille Woodard, Norma Washington, Patricia Smith and Carolyn Prather. Also present but not pictured was James Etta David. The next planning meeting is set for Thursday, April 14, at First Baptist Church and all area churches are invited to participate.
