Officials: Carnival d'Acadie cancelled

Call it another cold casualty. The winter precipitation, frigid temperatures and nonstop varying degrees of rain are forcing yet another Mardi Gras cancellation. This one in the city of Crowley.

Per a Nixle alert from the Crowley Police Department, the weather conditions have seen to it that Crowley cancels Carnival d'Acadie activities for Mardi Gras, including musical entertainment, carnival rides, costume contest and grand parade.
