Tickets now on sale

The Rotary Club of Crowley, together with the Community Outreach Corporation and the Crowley Christian Care Center, are announcing the fourth couple for the annual fundraiser, “Dancing with the Stars.”

This exciting event will be held both Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Opera House of the South.

The charity fundraising gala is being co-chaired by Emily Stoma and Mary Zaunbrecher; Stoma will also be the financial chairman, with assistance from Troy Breaux. Brenda Core of the Core Dance Studio is heading up the choreography team. All of these talented individuals are donating their time and efforts to present an evening of fun and fundraising for a good cause.

Jenn Nelson: Jenn and her husband Hans are the parents of three children – Christian, Cameron and Caroline.

She graduated from South Terrebonne High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Currently, you can hear her every morning on BIG 102.1 as the Morning Show co-host.

Nelson has participated as a judge in UL Lafayette’s Paint the Town Red and Fox’s Acadiana Idol. She is also active in the community as a volunteer for the Children’s Shelter of Acadiana, Acadiana Outreach Center, the Breast Center of Acadiana Foundation, Hearts of Hope and LARC’s Acadian Village. In addition, she volunteers and speaks on behalf of LOPA to educate the public on the importance of organ donation.

Her primary focus, however, is developing “Christian’s Legacy,” a foundation in honor of her son, which will provide scholarships and donations to local charities.

Audie Hanks: Hanks is owner of H&H Electrical Service. He is married to Kiisha Adams and they are parents to Kailey Rachelle and Jamie Nicole.

A graduate of Crowley High School and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hanks serves on the Notre Dame High School Advisory Board and was a member of the Redemptorist Catholic Advisory Board. He is a member of the Crowley Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businesses and the Louisiana Association of General Contractors.

In 2003, he was a duke to King Cimmer XLVIII. His hobbies include hunting and watching football, especially SEC teams and local high school squads.

He is looking forward to an entertaining evening of dancing and fun.

The choreographer for Nelson and Hanks is Julian Devillier. Devillier is a performing arts major at UL Lafayette and a recent graduate of Notre Dame High School.

She is on staff at Core Dance Center, Elegance of Rayne and the Acadiana Performing Arts Academy of Broussard.

She will be featured in the upcoming performance, “An Evening of Dance”, at ULL. Julian serves as a Eucharistic minister, reader and singer at St. Michael Catholic Church.

She has a background in theatre as well as dance and is pleased to share her many talents and her enthusiasm with the Dancing with the Stars team.
