Campbell arrested, Broussard sought on second-degree murder in infant fatality
Crowley Police, along with the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, have secured an indictment for second-degree murder against Kendra Campbell and Malik Broussard.
In September 2014, the Crowley Police Department began an investigation in regards to the death of a 7-week-old infant female. It was believed at that time, that her death could have possibly been caused by aspiration.
During the latter part of 2014, Crowley Police received autopsy reports confirming that the infant’s death was declared a homicide. On Sept. 2, 2015, an indictment was secured via grand jury.
Crowley Police arrested the infant’s mother, Campbell, 26, on Sept. 8, and she was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on the warrant of second-degree murder.
Crowley Police are looking for Broussard, 19, of Crowley. He has an active warrant out for his arrest for second-degree murder. Broussard was Campbell’s boyfriend.
Broussard is described as a black male, 5 feet, 11 inches in height, weighing 150 pounds, with short black hair. His last known address is 307 W. 11th St.
