Car crashes into School Board

Emergency personnel were called to the John A Bertrand Administrative Office at the Acadia Parish School Board just after 1 p.m. Thursday when a Suzuki XL7 sport utility vehicle crashed through the front wall there. The vehicle knocked down the brick wall in office of Talisa Fruge, secretary to Superintendent John E. Bourque. “Fortunately, Talisa was away from her desk or she could have been hurt, seriously hurt,” said Steve Jones, supervisor of maintenance and warehouse. The driver of the vehicle was treated at the scene by Acadian Ambulance personnel and taken to a local hospital for treatment. No serious injuries were reported. The name of the driver was not released pending the outcome of the investigation.
