Eleven Crowley High seniors comprise this year’s homecoming court at the school. CHS celebrates homecoming

Crowley High School will celebrate Homecoming 2016 with the theme “CHS in Wonderland.”
The Crowley High School students will celebrate this week with class spirit competitions and dress-up days sponsored by the Student Council. The Homecoming Parade will be held in downtown Crowley at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22. The parade will feature members of the Homecoming Court, the Football Sweetheart, the CHS football team, a variety of club and class parade entries and the CHS Marching Band.
The Homecoming Pep Rally will be held Friday, Sept. 23, in the boys’ gym at 1:45 p.m. The football game will also be held Friday as the Crowley High Gents take on the Eunice Bobcats at 7 p.m. at Gardiner Memorial Stadium.
During halftime the Football Sweetheart and the Homecoming Court will be presented and the newly selected Homecoming Queen for 2016 will be announced.
The Homecoming Dance sponsored by the Student Council will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Commons Area at CHS.
The members of the 2016 Homecoming Court are as follows:
Savannaha Marie Alleman: Alleman is the daughter of Robert and Beverly Alleman.
She was a member of the Ladies basketball team for two years and the French Club for two years.
She has received the Hardest Working Student Award and has been on the honor roll.
Alleman plans to attend Louisiana State University Eunice and major in nursing.
Miya Reshae’ Augustus: Augustus is the daughter of Michael Augustus and Resha Cook.
She was a member of FCCLA for three years.
She has received numerous academic awards in several subjects and has been on the honor roll.
Augustus plans to attend the Vet Institute of Houston where she will major in veterinary technology.
Alexis Rene Bernard: Bernard is the daughter of Barbara Andrus and the late Donald Bernard.
Bernard was a member of FFA for four years where she served as president during her senior year. She is a two-year member of the Area II Federation FFA officer team where she serves as president. She was active in Drama Club for two years, a member of French Club for two years and the prom committee for one year.
During her junior year, she was class president.
Bernard plans to attend McNeese State and major in veterinary science.
Tra’Naye Alize’ Brooks: Brooks is the daughter of Rachel Wilson and the late Charles Brooks.
She was a member of Drama Club for two years. She was a member of FFA for three years where she served as chaplain for one year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Brooks served on the prom committee for one year.
She plans to attend Louisiana State Univesrity and major in nursing.
Maya Alexandra Clement: Clement is the daughter of Clifford Winbush and Vanessa Clement.
She has been a cheerleader for four years where she served as co-captain and is now captain of the squad. She was a member of Drama Club for two years and on the prom committee for one year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and French Club.
Clement plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in nursing.
Madelyn Claire Hanks: Hanks is the daughter of Mark and Anitra Hanks.
She was a member of the Ladies volleyball team for three years, the track team for one year and the tennis team for one year. She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years, Student Council for one year and FFA for two years. She is currently a member of the National Honor Society.
Hanks plans to attend the UL Lafayette and major in nursing.
Mallarie Alexis Leleux: Leleux is the daughter of Darren and Kourtney Dailey.
She has been a member of the Ladies softball team for three years where she was named All-District during her sophomore year. She has been a member of Student Council for two years, FFA for three years and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years. She was a football manager for one year and on the prom committee for one year.
Leleux plans to attend school to become a massage therapist.
Jeanne Elizabeth Miller: Miller is the daughter of Greg Miller and Georgette Miller.
She has been a member of FFA and Student Council for four years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the CHS newspaper staff. She was on the color guard for two years and the prom committee for one year. She is the chairman of the “See You at the Pole” activities this year.
She has received the Hardest Working Student Award numerous times as well as many academic awards.
Miller plans to attend LSU and major in mass communications.
Allison Paige Smith: Smith is the daughter of Chris and Tammy Smith.
She has been a member of the cross country team for four years where she has served as captain for two years. She has also been a member of the CHS track team for four years. Allison has been the football and basketball videographer for three years. She has been a member of Glee Club for two years and a member of the CHOICES program for one year. She has been a member of the FFA for two years where she has been a part of the soil judging team.
Smith is currently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and after graduation, she will be going to Paris Island, South Carolina, for basic training.
Vanessa Christine Taylor: Taylor is the daughter of Chris and Missy Taylor.
She has been an active member of the FFA for four years and a football trainer for three years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and she has been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years. She was on the prom committee for one year. She was a member of the Ladies volleyball team for two years and the Ladies softball team for four years.
During her high school years, she received the Hardest Working Student and Student of the Month awards.
Taylor plans to attend Northwestern State University and major in business.
DeAndre’a Leeshay Winters: Winters is the daughter of Andre’ and Cora Winters.
She is a three-year member of the Ladies track team where she throws the shot put and discus. She has also been the Ladies basketball team manager for four years. She was a member of Glee Club for one year and the prom committee for one year. She has been a member of the FCCLA for four years.
Winters plans to attend LSU Alexandria and major in nursing.
The CHS football team has chosen Saddie Jane Brooks as the 2016 football sweetheart.
Brooks is the daughter of Robbie and Mia Brooks.
She has been a football manager for four years. She has been a member of Student Council and FFA for four years. She has also been a member of Art Club and prom committee for one year and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for two years. She was a peer tutor for one year.
She was chosen as Student of the Month during her freshman year. She has been chosen as the Hardest Working Student numerous times.
Brooks plans to attend South Louisiana Community College and major in nursing.
