The Clydesdale are coming
To celebrate their 82nd anniversary with Anheuser-Busch this year, the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales team will make multiple appearances while in town from Wednesday, Oct. 14, to Sunday, Oct. 18.
During their visit to the 79th International Rice Festival, the Clydesdales will host stable viewings on Oct. 18 where guests can interact with the hitch team and take photos.
Stable viewings will take place at Cajun Field, at 2351 W. Congress St. in Lafayette.
In addition, the Clydesdales will make a special home delivery on Thursday, Oct. 15, to one lucky winner’s home, courtesy of Schilling Distributing. For an opportunity to win the home delivery, consumers can visit www.teamschilling.com to sign up for the sweepstakes.
The Budweiser Clydesdales will also parade through downtown Lafayette; making deliveries at various retail locations on Friday, Oct. 16, and will parade at the International Rice Festival in Crowley on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Retail appearances on Oct. 16 in Lafayette will begin on Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette.
Clydesdales’ schedule:
• Thursday, Oct. 15, 5:30 p.m.: Full hitch makes special home delivery
• Friday, Oct. 16, 4-6 p.m.: Full hitch parade through Downtown Lafayette
• Saturday, Oct. 17, 3 p.m.: Full hitch parade at 79th International Rice Festival (Crowley)
• Sunday, Oct. 18, 1-4 p.m.: Public stable viewing
Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser Clydesdales are an enduring symbol of Budweiser’s heritage, tradition and commitment to quality. The hitch team’s upcoming visit to Acadiana, is one of hundreds of appearances it will make in 2015, never failing to draw a crowd wherever they go.
This year marks the 82nd anniversary of the Budweiser Clydesdales, which made their first appearance on behalf of Anheuser-Busch on April 7, 1933, when they delivered a case of Budweiser to the White House in celebration of the repeal of prohibition of beer.
